Does Postinor 2 Stop Ovulation If Taken During Ovulating Period?

Hi Dr, please i would love to know if postinor 2 stops ovulating during your ovulation period... Because I had sex with my boyfriend 12:30am 1st of August, and that was the day I also started my ovulation, but he ejaculated inside of me nd 1pm next day I took postinor 2... But because I was so scared of getting pregnant as my bf already has kids (twins) so his sperm must be strong, then I purchased another pack so literally I took 4 tablets of postinor 2 within 48hrs... Now I am scared because after taking the postinor 2 I was still ovulating and now it s exactly a week and my breast is paining me. I don t want to be pregnant, I m so scared

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Postinor 2 contains Levonorgestel as progesterone only containing emergency contraceptive. It has dual mode of actions to prevent pregnancy like:
- Prevention of ovulation
- Making cervical mucus thick to prevent sperm entry into the uterine cavity
