Does Pravastatin Cause Elevation In ALC Levels?

I am 83 years old and have an irregular heart beat ((ab fib). The cardiologist prescribed Pravastatin to Improve my cholesterol in order to prevent blood clots. My cholesterol was very normal before The irregular heart beat was detected and I had to take a blood thinner. My current problem is my A1c reading. It had been 6.1 and now it is 6.8. Since my eating habits haven t changed and I exercise daily, I think the A1c increase has been caused by the Pravastatin since I ve seen it can cause or worsen diabetes. I would greatly appreciate your recommendation. Richard kohl
