Does Pravastatin Damage The Liver Functioning?

i am taking Pravastatin 20mg tablets my Dr. put me on last month. He said my Cholesterol was slightly high. And my question is , is this a medicine that will destroy my liver? I had a friend that almost had his destroyed by a med. i do not remember what pill he was taking . But would like to know if this will and if it should be monitored closely .

Pravastatin has been reported to alter liver function tests and has rarely caused hepatitis.
So ,if you continue using this medication I suggest you to do the liever tests frequently.
