Does Prozac Cause Fluctuation In TSH Levels With A History Of Hypothyroidism?
I am a 54 yr old woman with a thyroid disorder. Hypothyroidism. I certainly started taking 10mg of Prozac because of OCD. I just received my blood work back from my thyroid and it is now .434. It tends to flex up and down. I am losing weight. My tsh in the past were: .450, .899, .901., and now it is at .434. Is the Prozac affecting my thyroid meds?Thank you. J
Hello, Thanks for the query.I have gone through the details. Madam, you have mentioned about taking Prozac but there is no mention about any medication for treating the thyroid condition. The values mentioned 450,899, 901 and 434 (no units given ) are too high. Are these values of TSH or any other hormone? Please clarify. Because these are exceptionally high values. Another aspect in a patient with high TSH values (Hypothyroidism), patients add weight. There is no weight loss. So it is better if you come back with with thyroid assay resultsa nd any treatment being taken . Thanks
