Does Prozac Intake Cause Dizziness?

I am on amitryptaline at night for sleep 100mg. I also take Prozac 40mg. I take the Prozac in the am. It is a new med and dose. I was on 20mg Prozac but it was not helping. The 40mg is working better but I find I am very lightheaded, especially if I move too quickly or bend over. Is this an expected side effect or should I worry?

Hi,

Some times a combination of these drugs is not good.

First, you need to check your blood pressure levels in sitting position and standing position to rule out orthostatic hypotension(means more decrease in BP while standing). Then you need to do EKG once.

And consult your primary care physician whether the cause of giddiness is a combination of drugs?

Though am not familiar with these drugs much, as far as I know, during a combination of this kind of drugs we need to be little careful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
