Does Regestrone Cause Any Side Effects?

my age is 47 years old from two months i got very less scanty less flow that is 30 days period but this month i got period which is disturbed on and off flow that while urinating. my doctor suggest me to use this regestrone harmo tab for 22 days will it stop and have any side effects. will my periods get stop according to my age.
