Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My neurologist has prescribed Quetiapine along with carbidopa/levodopa for my Parkinson s. I understand the most serious interaction is that Seroquel can interfere with the action of Sinemet. Is this correct? Also, what is the likelihood of nausea with Seroquel? I am also a diabetic and take both long- and short-acting insulin, and I have to be able to take p.o. to cover the insulin.
The likelihood of nausea with Seroquel is very low. Seroquel usually does not cause nausea. There is a moderate drug interaction between Carbidopa/Levodopa and Seroquel like nausea, diarrhea and stomach pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
