Does Sertraline Withdrawal Cause Nausea And Extreme Fatigue?

Hello. I have been on Setraline since October of 2017. I started on 25mg and worked my way up to 100mg over the course of a year and 2 months. In February 2018, I started weaning myself off of the Setraline and I haven’t taken any in 10 days. Mentally, I am feeling great but I am experiencing some symptoms that I think could be early signs of pregnancy, but I’m not sure. I have been craving eggs and milk for several weeks, and have had a very sensitive sense of smell and aversion to foods for about a week. I have also been extremely tired and nauseous. I am regularly sexually active but I have been on birth control for many years. My last period started on March 10th and my cycles are 28 days long. Could I be pregnant, or could these things just be symptoms from stopping Setraline?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

Thanks for asking. I understand your concern. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sertraline is not known to cause nausea as withdrawal effect. Your symptoms could be due to pregnancy if you have dropped taking contraceptive (excluded by pregnancy test in case period of delayed) after 8 days delay. Otherwise the nausea needs to be considered from some other cause like gastritis, refractory error or liver problem.

Thanks.
