Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Simvastatin 40mg Intake Cause Fatigue, Weight Loss And Numbness Of Legs?
I have been using simvastatin 40 mg for last 4 years, right now the following symptoms: 1. unusual fatique 2. numbness and tingling on my right lower leg. 3. loss weight Please send me your consultation , Thanks Jack
Dear Jack, Simvastatin is sometimes associated with rhabdomyolysis. This is a condition defined as damage to muscular tissue. The symptoms are the ones you are reporting. If you were at my clinic, I would suggest to measure myoglobin levels in blood and urine. Proving this to be the cause, I would switch to another statin. But you need to see a doctor for this. I cannot help with prescriptions. I hope I have helped you to understand your condition better. Wish you good health! Manoku Eni, M.D.
