Does Synthroid Cause Constipation With Loss Of Appetite?

Would taking this medicine cause constipation? My husband has taken 3 tablets so far. He is constipated. He feels he has to urinate but can t. He has no appetite. He has himself all nervous over this. He doesn t know if he should keep taking the pill. Thank you for any help you can give us. My husband is 80 years old. He also takes synthroid . He recently had the dosage changed because he was showing anxiety all the time. The doctor decided he needed a change in the synthroid.

Hi,

It is not related to synthroid. You can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
