Does TMS Help In Curing Depression?

My psychiatrist has suggested TMS as nothing else seems to be helping. Have had severe depression and PTSD for over a year. Have try therapy and meds but still not much better. Beginning to think doc does not believe me and has given up on me. Do not want to try ect as all I think of is the movie "One Flew Over the cuckoos Nest". Does TMS help. Can't seem to find much about it.

Hi,

ECT is a very effective, safe and painless procedure and is done under anesthesia. The only memory people have is of lying down and being given an injection. Just forget whatever was shown in the movie as it is completely outdated. I would any day recommend ECT over TMS. But still if you are absolutely against ECT, then TMS may be tried.

Best wishes.
