Does Tea Tree Oil Help In Controlling Cough?

Hi I have had an uncontrollable cough for about the last week. I did see a naturopath about the same thing some years ago re the same issue which was a result from gardening, potting mix etc which I have been doing a lot of late, day after day. The naturopath suggested I think Tea Tree oil, a couple of drops under my tongue & it worked. Do you think it was Tea Tree Oil or something else?

HI.
Thanks for your query and understanding of the problem.
The thing which your Naturopath has given you looks to be tea tree oil.
Uncontrollable cough is known to occur in your case by the working in the garden. This indicates that you have allergy to a known thing.
And by a rule of thumb, avoiding the allergens is the most important part of the prevention and treatment of the allergic problems.
Antihistamine and steroids only suppress the reactions and not of any permanent solution.
Get a proper investigations done for a proper treatment to be done.
