Does Valsartan Interact With Carvedilol?

I am taking Valsartan 320mg and Carvedilol 25mg concurrently. They were prescribed by two different doctors, but I believe my current doctor knows of all medications. Is there any risks and reasons to being on both, as I think they are for blood pressure? Thank you!

Hello,

You should always keep your treating doctors informed about all the medications you are taking because some medications interact with one another causing serious side effects.

Carvedilol is used to treat high blood pressure patients with a history of heart attack. This medication helps to reduce high blood pressure & further chances of heart attack or stroke. Get a follow-up treatment for your heart done. You may have to go through some investigations, get them done, get evaluated. After evaluation of the severity of the cardiac pathology, your treatment will continue by either medications or surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
