Does Venlafaxine XR Causes Drowsiness Than Normal Because I Am Always Sleepy And Tired?
Hi there, i take Venlafaxine XR 75mg, one at night time. I did not think to mention to the doctor that i take this medication when he asked if i was on any medication...my GP sent me to this man for a sleep apnea test because i told him i was just sooo tired all the time, i woke up just in time to pull my car back onto the road the other day. From what i have read up, it is these pill that are making me more sleepy then normal, (i have always been a bit of a sleepy person), should i cancel my sleep apnea test.
Venlafaxine and other medicines of the same class can cause both somnolence and insomnia as side effects. In my opinion, you should call up you doctor and inform him. I do not think you should cancel the sleep apnoea test without discussing with your doctor because in my experience of using this medicine in hundreds of patients, I cannot recall a single instance where the sedation was so much as to make one fall asleep while driving. It is possible that there may be a sleep disorder which is being aggravated by venlafaxine .
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
