Hi Dr I read the article above and thought you could help me find an unanswered question. I live a healthy life, exercise regularly, eat healthy, do not consume milk cos I am Lactose intolerant. I try to avoid fats as much a possible and I have normal sugar in blood also my weight is perfect. My height is 5 4 , weight is 55 Kgs, Age- 27 recently I have been diagnosed with high TSH (10.14), very high TPO Antibody count (2145.08), high TG (41.26) and normal FT3 (2) and normal FT4 (0.95). I visited an endocrinologist and he prescribed Thyronorm 50mcg (Thyroxine) for six weeks for now. He says I have developed Autoimmune Hypothyroidism. I had no noticeable symptoms of hypothyroidism. I just went for a regular blood test and found this report. My parents do not suffer from Hypothyroidism. I wonder how i developed it. For the past 8 weeks, I have been consuming a glass (250 ml) of soy milk everyday. Could this be the reason for me to suddenly develop hypothyroidism? In my blood test report the vit B12 (150) and Vit D3 (6.20) are also extremely deficient. My Vit D3 has been deficient for almost 2 years now. Could this be the reason for HYpothyroidism? Please suggest what do you think could be the cause so I can try to eliminate the cause fro the future. Also, if i consume Calcium to bring up my D3 or B12 level, will that interfere with the thyronom tablet that I am consuming now. could Soya milk be the reason for Thyroid malfunctioning?
