Hello. I m Donna. Just a question about my Wellbutrin (300 mg) once per day. Have been taking it for years and done very well. Am I to understand there is some evidence that Wellbutrin has some pain relieving qualities? My internist and I discuss at every appt, wondering if it s time to change medication. I know your body....gets used to meds....and their effects lessen. What it comes down to is that I m chicken to change to a new anti-depressant. I have progressive osteoarthritis and my doc and I hope the Wellbutrin may help a bit with that. Just wanted a different opinion about stopping the Wellbutrin. I m also a heart patient (2 stents in 2003), stage 3 kidney disease, osteoarthritis. Sounds terrible but all in all, I m doing great. Thanks for your time. Much appreciated. Donna Deters
Hello, Wellbutrin or bupropinon is a medication used mostly for depresion and smoking cessation. It has effects oon bowel irritative disease and in other inflamatory procceses in the body so it may have positive effects on osteoarthritis since it is and inflamatory disease. The most frequent side effects are epyleptic seizures and other psychiatric disorders and since you are doing fine i dont think you have to change it. Best regards, Anisa
