Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does zanaflex cause high blood pressure or at least contribute to it? About a year and a half maybe two years ago my neurologist put me on Nuedexta for a head injury from a brain concussion. At that time I was on Lyrica, 75 mg. 1 x day, the Zanaflex two 4 mg.each tablets, once a day, then Nuedexta. Recently, and progressively my blood pressure keeps going up. Prior to the nuedexta I did not have such an issue. Is there a cause from the interaction of the medicines I take?
Hi dear... None of the drug which you are taking can actually cause hypertension. As such Zanaflex is known to cause or have drug interaction as it inhibits the metabolism of some drugs. But you don't have any significant interaction with Lyrica or Nuedexta. Kindly go for a cardiovascular check up & find out the cause of hypertension. Please start with an antihypertensive medicine as soon as possible.
