Does A 4-month-old Having Tiny Pupil Need Medical Attention?

Is it normal for a 4 month old baby to have very tiny pupils. She struggles when she has light (daytime) suddenly imposed on her. Thanks. A concerned grandmother and as she had a seizure when she was 8 weeks old I am a little concerned. Don t recall my children or other grandchild having such constricted pupils when they were babies

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Generally pupil will become very tiny when exposed to light. If the pupil is persistently narrow, better to consult an ophthalmologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family physician
