Does A Blood Clot In The Artery Cause Neck Pain?

My brother has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has taken two chemo treatments and has been complaining with his neck hurting.His Dr schedule an ultrasound and they find a blood clot in the main artery....my question, is this cause from what he is going through?
