Does A Bone Density Scan Test Have Two Results?

I had a bone density scan about 5 years ago. They called me and told me it was normal. I had one done recently and they called and said it was normal, but then called and said I have osteopenia. I asked why they called before and said it was normal. They said the results come back at two different times. I never got a call the second time after my first test. Does the test have two results that come back at different times?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The report suggest changes in the bone densities in two different timings.
2.The bone density is a subjective findings - some can take it as a serious findings - few can be treated as normal for the age.
3.Usually patients / females after 45 this bone density changes are seen in any patient - which is normal findings at this age.
4.Another possibilities are the density changes in the x-ray due to contrast setting - technical issue can be seen as low or high at times.
5.So depending on your clinical presentation - you can take the things / report into considerations.

Good luck.
