Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My pain started after a Bone Marrow Biopsy, and instead of the hip pain getting better, as would be expected after the biopsy, it got increasingly worse. The Oncologist who ordered the biopsy ordered an M.R.I., and after receiving the results, sent me to an Orthopedist who diagnosed Sciatica. Was it likely caused by the Biopsy, as no other event preceded the pain?
Bone marrowbiopsy doesn’t cause sciatica. You might have sciatica already which has got worsened during the procedure. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Gabapentin for pain relief.Your orthopedics will assist you further in the management.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
