Does A Bursting Blood Vessel Cause Chest Pain?

hi, i was in emergency room recently with severe chest pains on my left side, unfortunately I had been given some pain medicine so I didn't fully comprehend what the doctor was telling me but something about a blood vessel burst, severe pain last a day and then you're fine???
