Does A Cataract Surgery Cause Bright Light In The Field Of Vision?

I had cataract surgery last month on one eye and second on the 6th of this month. When I went in for the first eye I saw a red light to look at (it looked lime a laser light) and on the second the light was a BRIGHT white light. Is this normal? It was not laser surgery.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think it is perfectly normal and it could be related to the density of your cataracts. Laser surgery also uses the same light.

Hope it helps.
