Does A Cataract Surgery Improve The Condition Of The Eye?

I had cataract surgery last April. The right eye is doing great, but the doctor recommended Mono. I have NOT adapted. I even paid for the YAG procedure thinking that would help. I am currently wearing reading glasses and long distance glasses. Can my left eye be redone?
