Does A Dent On The Head Caused By A Hit Need Medical Attention?

I hit my forehead really hard on the corner of a cabinet. I iced it immediately (for several hours) and there was a dent, some bleeding (not much) and it has been swollen and sore for a week now, but no bruising....no dizziness, vomiting or loss of consciousness. I have had more headaches though....should I get it looked at? Be concerned about internal bleeding?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Only with headache, there does not sound possibility of internal bleed in absence of other symptoms. Though you require prescription of analgesic, antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications to cure it at earliest and prevent secondary bacterial infection in the hematoma.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
