Does A Fat Graft On The Knee Help To Alleviate Infection?

Two years ago I fell down a flight of stairs. It ended up getting infected, and all the fat over my left knee had to be removed & i had to get a graft over it. I looked into it a bit, and was wondering if a fat graft would help it at all. I have almost no skin over my lower knee bone. It also makes my body uneven because my other leg is normal. I am obese, so its a big difference compared to my other leg.

Hi,

A fat graft does not alleviate infection, it provides structural and functional support to the underlying structures.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
