General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Acute stress disorder is a condition that is clearly related to a stressful situation and symptoms start shortly after the event and should last less than one month.

If an event that may have caused the stress disorder was more than a month ago, that event is not the cause of acute stress disorder.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
