Does A Lump On The Chest Indicate Malignancy?

My Mum had a small red bump on her chest and then a couple of nights ago it strated randomly bleeding when it hadn t been bumped at all. She went to the doctor the next day and he burnt it off. The doctors here are hopless and I was wondering if it could be serious like cancer?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should not worry much about cancer.
Mostly the bump is due to dilated blood vessel or hemangioma. Both are benign conditions.
Ideally doctor should take biopsy first and get done histopathological examination to rule out malignancy.
But since doctor burnt the swelling, it is not possible to take biopsy.
So if same lesion appear again in future than consult dermatologist and get done biopsy from it.
But at present no need to worry for malignancy. It is benign mostly.
