Does A Ruptured Vein At The Back Of My Leg Need Medical Attention?
I have what appears to be a broken vessel on the inside of my leg, not quite behind the knee. Just noticed it, but it is very dark purple, 1 long, with yellowing towards the back of the knee. I am a runner & put in a short, high effort run 3 days ago. No pain in the area & I don t recall any injury or trauma. Should I go to the ER? Am I at risk for a clot?
Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM . Read and reviewed your query and health concerns. You seems to suffer from-Thrombosed clot from the perforator bursting. You need to be concerned,as you have no cover with anticoagulants. So you need to Consult Vascular Surgeon,to avoid further extension of Clot in deep veins. Hence reply to your question is -YES, you have risk for a clot, being extended in the deep veins with risk for DVT. USG and duplex Color Scan-would fix the causal status in your leg veins.
Hope this would help you to plan further care of this complex illness of yours.
