Does A Single Bump On Top Of Pubic Region Indicate Herpes?

I had a bump at the very top of my pubic region that was painful to the touch and somewhat hard. It was there about 5-6 days. Then this morning, after I got out of the shower it started to bleed and a small amount of puss (cream colored) came out. I thought it was an ingrown hair, but now I'm scared that it could be herpes. Does herpes occur as a single bump at the very top of the pubic region? I have a doctor's appointment but it's not until next week.

it is difficult to know without being able to see it, but it is very likely that this is just an "ingrown hair" like you suspect. unless you had a recent known exposure to someone who has herpes, I doubt that's what this is. however, you should still get it checked out by your doctor to make sure, because the only way to know for sure is with an exam. good luck!
