Does A Tear On The Medial Meniscus Heal By Itself?

I injured my knee 3 months ago playing football and the MRI said i have degree -1- horizontal tear on the medial meniscus and partial tear on the acl .. many doctors after the physjcal testing said that i just need physiotherapy .. and one doctor think i need partial meniscectomy to play football again.. My question that is it possible my injury could heal without intervention ?..

Hello,

In the case of meniscus tears, some people think the injury will heal overtime on its own. But the truth is that there are different types of meniscus tears — and some tears won't heal without treatment.

If your tear is on the outer one-third of the meniscus, it may heal on its own or be repaired surgically.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
