Does A Torn Ligament In The Wrist Cause Long-term Pain?

I broke my wrist in October and tore a ligament. It is now the end of January and the pain is worse and no mobility at all. My Dr seems to blow it off but I demanded he do something, so he wants to order an EMG for carpal tunnel. This seems totally bogus to me. This is not workers comp and I just want to be able to use my hand again

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Ligament injury can cause chronic pain. As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and plan for surgical fixation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
