Does Absence Of Periods After Unprotected Sex Indicate Pregnancy?
Hi. I had unprotected sex 2 days before my period, and my period hasn t came. Something I am worried about is I also had surgery 4 days after the unprotected sex. They took labs 5 days before (a day before the sex) to check if I was pregnant and they did a test right before the surgery and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant? And if I am could the surgery of caused harm to my baby?
Let me tell you that most of the times if your period does not come after unprotected sex, you are pregnant unless proved otherwise.
I'll advise you not to be confused and if the surgery team is telling you that your pregnancy test was negative, then yes you were not pregnant. You also should have elaborated regarding the kind of surgery you had.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
