Does Accidental Intake Of Adderall Cause Reduced Heart Rate?

I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia and hypertension. I accidentally took my son s adderall (5mg, not extended release) today. I called and was told what to watch for. My heart rate is down! Running low 70 s for the last 4 hours now. Nothing has brought it down before, it normally runs 120 s. Is this a possible side effect?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Adderall is a stimulant and would normally cause an increase, not decrease in heart rate.
This is one of the more common side effects of this particular medication.

This means that it is not likely the cause of the decrease that you are noticing at the moment.

I hope this helps
