Does Addiction To Anti Seizure Medication Need Medical Attention?
wife is going through xanax withdrawl, back in Jan 1 2016 she with thru withdrawl and ended up with seizures that put her in hospital for several days, so this August 14, 2016 we are going thru this again, I have two anti seizure meds, zonisamide and topiramate. for the last two weeks she has taken more than the 1 mg 3 times a day. She did 10 to 12 pills a day for the last 2 weeks ..... should she go to hospital
I think she should go to the hospital and visit a neurologist soon became she is having seizures as a complication of stopping them. Normally she should not have side effects if she lowered the dosage gradually.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
