Does Alcohol Consumption During Pregnancy Harm The Baby?

I think I may be pregnant, I plan on taking a test today or tomorrow. However, I didn t realize that I was or could be pregnant and I went to a bachelorette party and drank alcohol, approximately 1 week after what I believe to be the date of conception. If it turns out I am pregnant, will this have harmed my baby?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
There is no amount of alcohol that is known to be safe during pregnancy, and therefore alcohol should be avoided during pregnancy. Prenatal exposure to alcohol can interfere with the healthy development of the baby. Depending on the amount, timing, and pattern of use, alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to fetal alcohol syndrome or other developmental disorders. If you consumed alcohol before you knew you were pregnant, stop drinking now. Alcohol should continue to be avoided during breastfeeding too. Exposure to alcohol as an infant poses harmful risks, and alcohol does reach the baby during breastfeeding.
Advice
1.     Avoid unnecessary tension as thing cannot be changed
2.     Visit your obstetrician for further check-up
Thanks
