Does An Electrolyte Imbalance Cause Dizziness And Tingling In The Body?

I ve been feeling quite shakey lately. It s worse when I stand/ am walking, but I also feel it when sitting or laying down. I get a wave of feeling very warm and have cold sweats hits me, my head gets lightheaded (a bit starry), and my body gets tingly (almost feels numb). When up it feels like I m on the verge of fainting, so much so that I have to hold on to something/ brace myself to keep myself up. Could this be a sign of low iron, or an electrolyte imbalance?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Electrolyte imbalances and anemia can cause similar symptoms especially low sodium and potassium. Drink plenty of water especially salted feeds. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
