Does An Insect Bite Cause Itchy Spots On The Legs?

So I have these spots on my legs for like the past five days. Started off looking like mosquito bites. They were extremely itchy now they have turned very dark red. Not as itchy but I have minor pain when I touch or scratch it. Could it be a insect bite ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I feel that most probably you may be be having lichen urticatus. Caused by hypersensitivity reaction to insect bites. You may take antihistaminics like Cetirizine daily. Apply potent steroid cream like Clobetasol Propionate cream on the lesions. Avoid soap bath. And protect yourself from insect bites.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
