Does An Itchy Red Spot On The Chest Require Urgent Medical Attention?

I have a red spot on my chest, right where I probably got sunburned when I was much younger. It just came up about a month ago (I m 62). It s raised, sensitive and a little itchy, about an inch long and 1/2 wide. My annual dermatologist appointment is in December. Should I wait or schedule an earlier appointment? It kinda worries me

Hi,

It may be insect bite dermatitis most probably. It is an emergency,so consult the dermatologist immediately. After thorough examination and investigations,he may give proper treatment. I would recommend you to take antihistaminics and oral steroid in tapering dose. Apply mild steroid cream.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel,
