Does Anal Fissure With Constipation Need Surgery?
hi doctor.. I hve this anal fissure for more than a decade..but it was never a bigger trouble for me..other than very occasional constipation nd bleeding..but recently I had a severe constipation nd post tat im scared ..im using diltact..luctucose syrup nd a fibre supplement along wit sitz bath...s surgery oly a y last option for me..?

It all depends on the stage of the fissure. untreated fissures can complicate and worsen over time, can result in scars and fistulae.
However, if you can manage with local treatments, you may postpone surgery till you feel the need, provided you are under regular surgical consultation.
The most important thing you need is soft and creamy stools that wont rupture the fissure. As you are already on lactulose, titrate the dose up for best effect.
