Does Angioplasty Cause Difficulty In Intake Of Solids?
My father in law has undergone 2 angioeplasty 3 yrs back his age is 71. he is recovering now,but he is facing a problem since 4 months,he Is not able to eat any solid from 4 mnths he is on liquids only..if he tries to push any solid he vomitts, we have done medical tests as well : ECG, 2D eco, endoscopy. also we consulted neurologist where few test were done. all the reports till date are normal but in person father is not able to eat anything. What is the possible cause is it still the side effect of angioplasty? what is the cause and whats is the solution for it please do let me know. Regards, Mangesh Gokhale 0000 YYYY@YYYY
Hi Welcome to HCM Your father in law could be suffering from some stricture in the gastro intestinal tract.It could not be a sde effect of angioplasty.It could be related to some peptic ulcer or it can be even age related.Barium swallow and CECT abdomen will be helpful in his case.Drugs like pantoprazole,Domperidone,Baclofen can be helpful.Continue his old medication regularly.Surgical treatment like stricturoplasty can be done if ay abnormality detected.Consult your gastro enterologist for expert management.
