Does Antibiotics Cause Delayed Periods?

I had sex with my boyfriend about a month and a half ago with a condom and he did not ejaculate and had a period just over a week after but now I m late for this months period and have had tonsillitis and been ill this week so I take 8 antibiotics a day. Is there anyway I could be pregnant?

Hi,
I you have had a period after having sex, then it is not possible that you could be pregnant in this cycle. The first day of bleeding indicates a new cycle and any pregnancy can occur if you have sex in the present cycle.
I would recommend you to take appropriate dosage of antibiotics after consultation with doctor. Taking 8 antibiotics a day is not desirable and it can lead to toxicity.
There might be a variation of about 3-4 days in the menstrual cycle pattern. It's highly unlikely that antibiotic intake could have messed with your periods. If your periods are delayed beyond a week, consult a gynaecologist for further evaluation.
