Does Anxiety Cause A Racing Heart Beat And Chest Pain?

My daughter is 11 years old. For the last 3 weeks she has had a racing heart beat. Ecgs performed, holter monitor results all clear. We understand this is not a heart problem. In the last 2 weeks she has had chest pain when the palpitations occur. Her father had graves disease, I have rheumatoid arthritis. Initial blood tests show results all good but rheumatoid factor high. Pediatrician has said anxiety, however she has not had any issues, is open with me and is quite a happy child when she is not having these attacks. I'm worried there is an underlying physical problem, but it's easier for everyone to just say it's anxiety. Please help.

Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

At age of 11, if any child has regular chest pain with palpitation, in that case, chances of cardiac problem is high. You can consult a cardiologist to get her proper investigation done. That would help you to get some result behind symptoms. In case, all investigation like ECHO come normal, then it would be psychological anxiety. Then you should consult a psychiatrist. In case, you need further help, you can ask.

Thanks
