Does Birth Control Pill Help Deal With Acne?

I am 28 and I have been having acne problems all my life and after having trying all the existing forms of medications, I have decided to try birth control pills. I have been researching extensively online about the kinds of pills available. My sister has been using Yaz since the last 9 years and it seems to have suited her. After research I found out that Yaz is being sold as Dronis in India. Wanted to know if this information is correct. i do plan on meeting a gynac in this regard.

Hi. Yes, The composition of Dronis is same as that of Yaz. Other commonly available alternative is Yamini. OCP do help in acne, especially if it is associated with features of PCOS (Polycystic ovarian disease). However, in such cases, some dermatologists prefer Ginette or Diane-35 (0.035 mg ethinyl oestradiol and 2 mg cyproterone acetate. However, it should be chosen by your gynaeologist/ Dermatologist. Hope it answers your queries.
