For the last 3 weeks Iv been thinking I might be pregnant. Ive been very fatigued, moody, and Ive have hard bloating sense my period (feb 13) and it was only 2 days long. I recently lost a large amount of weight (around 41/2-5 weeks ago) I had no appetite and the sight of food made me sick, about few weeks ago I started eating way more than usual, and been having cravings for things like ice cream when Im lactose-intolerant. Ive also been on birthcontrol for 10 months and havent missed a pill. I do have back pain and headaches but I think thats from my car accident back in October. Should I waist the money for a HPT?
Hi there, I have gone through your question and after understanding it fully, I would like to offer my advise. 1) When you are on regular birth control, chances of having a pregnancy are very less, almost 0.3%. 2) An HPT becomes positive only after a missed period. If you are having regular periods, no need to do a HPT. 3) The symptoms that you have mentioned are not necessarily indicative of pregnancy. 4) So, my suggestion is that do an HPT only if you miss your periods and not before.
Hope this was helpful. Thanks, Dr. Shikha Shah
