Does Blowing Nose Cause Blurry Eyes In A Fuchs' Patient?
my neighbor has Fuchs disease and blew her nose and one of her eyes is now blurry, she used eyes drops but that hasn't helped, could this have been caused by the her blowing her nose? Fuchs, or could she have damaged her retina in the process? She is 85 years old, 5'2", 110 lbs
Hello Blowing of nose is not related to blurred vision. Since you are having Fuchs corneal dystrophy the cause for blurred vision is corneal edema. This is because of problem with corneal endothelium resulting in corneal edema. The treatment is by use of hyperosmotic drugs. Non responsive cases may require treatment by keratoplasty. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
