Does Brownish Vaginal Spotting Mean Pregnancy?

I am a little concerned and not sure what this means or what I need to do.

I am very regular with my menstrual cycle and always know when I will start. This month I started on the 23rd, which is when I was supposed to. The beginning of the day my flow was pretty heavy which was normal and by the end of the day it was pretty light. I still wore my tampon just in case. The next morning I changed as usual and started my day off. By the time I got to work the tampon was very discomforting so I took it out. There was no red blood just brown blood. I didn't have anything else the rest of the day and nothing since. So I have only had a one-day period this month.

The last day of intercourse was March 7th which according to my calculations is a day or two before ovulation. I know this is pretty crazy but it has been almost 11 years since I have been pregnant and just wondering if this is a sign or is it something elseHi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Hallow Madam,

The very fact that you had bleeding at the time of your expected menses indicates that the chances of pregnancy are very low.

You had intercourse around the day of egg release. Your calculations are absolutely right. So the chances of pregnancy have to be kept in mind. Thus another possibility that remains is you were pregnant and aborted completely; hence heavy bleeding followed by brown bleeding and then no bleeding.

The best way to resolve this dilemma is get the ultrasonography done. Urine pregnancy test will not give you any useful information after this incidence. If the pregnancy has been completely aborted, it will not be seen in the uterus. If it is incompletely expelled out, it is reflected in ultrasonography. In that case, you will have to get it removed by surgical intervention.

If there no products are visualized in the uterus, may be due to complete abortion or due to no pregnancy, it should not make any difference for you.

To avoid such stress in future, it is advisable to adapt some reliable birth control method like intrauterine device, birth control pills or condom. Now a days, female condoms also are available.

I hope your query has been resolved satisfactorily.
