Does Carpal Tunnel Cause Numbness In Face And Arm?

We have been painting the last couple days and after the first day my 18 year old daughter now has a continuous vibrating feeling in both hands . It has been constant for 3 days. she also feels a numbness in her arm and numbness on her lip sometimes when she is eating. Does the painting have anything to do with this or just a coincidence? She went to the Dr. today and she said it was carpal tunnel but why would she have numbness in face and arm if it was carpal tunnel? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it doesn't go away whats my next course of action?
