Does Cerazette Affect Menstruation?

When taking Cerazette does it stop your ovulation completely? Isn't the process of menstruation a natural process that gets rid of waste products? If so, isn't it unhealthy for this not to be excreted? Or does it just completely stop the whole process? Thanks!
