Does Change In Diet Increase The Life Expectancy Of A Person?

I am 71 and have been diagnosed with angina. I have had 2 stints. I have no heart damage. I have been medicated for high cholesterol since I was 35, but am not very careful about my diet. How much will changing my diet affect my life expectancy. I have exercised off and on and will continue only on a more regular basis at least 3 days a week. My exercise include a few basic stretches and calicentics plus a 30 minute walk.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern , if you are cardiac patient then changing diet alone would not be enough but you have to change the complete life style from grass rooted level and for that better to see the cardiac rehab center, if this is not possible then cut down the calorie in diet keep the regular habit of aerobic exercise, yoga, meditation, relaxation therapy, these would be much helpful and the most important is "stress" it must be nil, hope this information helps, take care.
